Why successful social media marketing is like a long distance race!

For those of you who don’t know, I am a runner! I’ve only been running for a few years, so I’m a newb, but nonetheless, still a runner. I’ve run a few half marathons, a few 10ks and a bunch of 5ks.One of my goals on race day was to run the entire race – meaning no breaks and no walking. I wanted to complete the entire race at a running pace. Otherwise, you feel like crap the entire race. And you also feel like you are constantly trying to catch up to everyone else. And personally, I feel more accomplished if I’m able to keep a consistent pace throughout the entire race.

A couple of weeks ago I signed-up for a local 10k event. One of my goals on race day was to run the entire race – meaning no breaks and no walking. I wanted to complete the entire race at a running pace. Otherwise, you feel like crap the entire race. And you also feel like you are constantly trying to catch up to everyone else. And personally, I feel more accomplished if I’m able to keep a consistent pace throughout the entire race.

And, I DID IT! And while I was running, I was thinking about the similarities between running events and social media marketing. Watch the video to find out what those are!
